CHRONICLES OF WORDCRAFT

Disclosures Affiliate & sponsorship information

Plain-language summary
Effective date: November 13, 2025 • How we handle affiliate links, recommendations, and sponsorships

Overview

Chronicles of Wordcraft is built first and foremost around puzzles, stories, and artwork—not advertising. That said, running a small imprint does involve tools, services, and partners. This Disclosures page explains when we may receive compensation for recommending a product or service, how we label those relationships, and what you can expect from us whenever money is involved.

In plain terms: if we might earn a commission, get a benefit, or otherwise have a financial relationship tied to a recommendation, we want you to know that clearly before you act on it. We try to follow the spirit of advertising and endorsement rules in the places where our readers live, even though those rules differ by country.

1. What this Disclosures page covers

This page applies whenever a recommendation, link, or mention from Chronicles of Wordcraft might be influenced by a financial relationship, including:

It does not cover ordinary editorial decisions about which myths, stories, or techniques we talk about in our books, nor does it turn every casual mention of a tool into a recommendation. We may refer to third-party products simply as part of describing our publishing workflow.

2. Affiliate links and referral programmes

From time to time, we may participate in affiliate or referral programmes offered by companies whose tools we use in our own creative work—for example, software for designing interiors, platforms we use to host emails or files, or services that help manage our business. When we do:

Additional context and a more narrative overview of our current partners can be found on the Affiliate & Partnerships page.

At present, most Chronicles of Wordcraft content is produced without direct sponsorship. If that changes—now or in the future—we will treat sponsorships with the same transparency expectations as affiliate links.

Where a company pays us to feature its product, provides a product specifically for review, or otherwise exercises editorial influence over content, we will:

If we later conclude that a sponsorship or gift has created an impression of bias that we are not comfortable with, we may revise or remove the content.

4. Unpaid recommendations and casual mentions

Sometimes we talk about tools, platforms, or books that we simply like, with no affiliate link or sponsorship attached. For example, we might mention a reference text, a design approach, or a printing trick that we found helpful.

In those cases:

We may still link to the product’s website or documentation purely for convenience. Those links are not meant to be mistaken for affiliate links when no affiliate relationship exists.

5. Where you will see disclosures

To be useful, a disclosure has to be visible at the moment you are making a decision—such as clicking a link, using a discount code, or acting on a recommendation. For that reason, we aim to place disclosures:

This Disclosures page acts as the master reference, while the Affiliate & Partnerships page provides an up-to-date, reader-friendly overview of active relationships.

6. Relationships with vendors and platforms

Chronicles of Wordcraft relies on a number of third parties to operate—such as website hosts, email providers, analytics tools, and print-on-demand services. Some of these vendors are purely transactional: we pay them for services and receive no special benefit for mentioning them. Others may have affiliate, partner, or referral programmes that we participate in.

Regardless of the business arrangement:

We may adjust which vendors we use over time, including ending relationships that no longer align with how we want to treat readers.

7. No financial, legal, or professional advice

Even when we talk about tools, costs, or business decisions, our content is not financial, legal, tax, or professional advice. It reflects one small imprint’s experience and priorities, not a universal best practice.

Before you spend money, sign a contract, or launch your own publishing project based on something you read from Chronicles of Wordcraft, you should:

8. Questions, concerns, and corrections

If you ever have questions about whether a particular link, recommendation, or mention on our site is connected to a financial relationship, we encourage you to ask. Transparency is the goal, and it is better to over-explain than to leave you guessing.

You can contact us at [email protected]. Please include “Disclosures” in the subject line and, if possible, a link or screenshot of the content you are asking about.

If we discover that a disclosure was missing, vague, or placed poorly, we will update the relevant page or post and, where appropriate, add a note explaining the correction.

9. Changes to this Disclosures page

We may update this page periodically to reflect new regulations, policy guidance, or changes in how we work with affiliates and sponsors. Updates may also be needed as the Chronicles of Wordcraft imprint expands into new formats or platforms.

When we make significant changes, we will adjust the “Last reviewed” date in the footer and may highlight the update on our Release & Updates page or in reader communications.
