Overview
This page explains where to find the digital downloads we email you, how long links usually work, what to do if a link fails, and what is and is not okay to do with those files once you have them.
It applies to bonus packs, sample pages, printable extras, and other downloads associated with Chronicles of Wordcraft and R. R. Thalore, whether you received them by email, on a confirmation page, or through a trusted bookstore or platform.
This is a “plain rules” guide. It does not replace our Permissions & Licensing, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookies, or Disclosures pages. If anything here seems to conflict with those documents, the formal policies—and any written license you have from us—will always govern.
1. Where to find your downloads
1.1 After you sign up for a bonus pack or free download
When you request a bonus pack or free sample, here’s where your files usually appear:
- On the confirmation page: right after you submit the form, you may see a button or link labelled with the name of the pack or file. You can usually click this immediately to download your PDF.
- In your inbox: within a few minutes, you should receive an email from us (via our mailing platform) containing one or more download buttons or links.
- In your promotions or updates tabs: depending on your email provider, our message may land in a “Promotions”, “Updates”, or similar tab instead of your primary inbox.
To track the email down more quickly, try:
- Searching your inbox for “R. R. Thalore” or “Chronicles of Wordcraft”.
- Checking spam or junk folders and marking the message as “Not spam” if you find it there.
- If you use multiple email addresses, confirming which one you entered on the form or at checkout.
1.2 Files linked from a bookstore or retailer
In some cases, we may provide a link to bonus content from within a bookstore listing, e-book, or order receipt. In that case the download can usually be found by:
- Following the instructions on the “Bonus content” page printed in the book or e-book.
- Clicking the retailer’s link to our site and entering your name and email address on the dedicated bonus signup form.
- Opening the email you receive from us after signing up, then using the buttons or links inside that email to access your files.
For privacy reasons we normally do not receive your full purchase history from the retailer. If you need help, including a receipt or order number in your message makes it much easier for us to assist you.
2. How download links behave
2.1 Do links expire?
We aim to keep links active for a reasonable period, but we may rotate files, update packs, or retire older materials as the library grows. In addition, our email provider and file host may limit the number of times a single link can be clicked to reduce abuse.
Because of this, we strongly recommend that you:
- Save the PDF to your own device or private cloud storage as soon as you’ve downloaded it.
- Avoid sharing the raw download URL directly on social media or in public forums, as those links may break or be blocked if abused.
2.2 What if I get an error message?
If clicking a link gives you an error, try these quick checks:
- Open the link in a different browser (for example, switching from in-app mail to Chrome or Edge).
- Temporarily disable aggressive tracking blockers or email “link safe” previews.
- Copy and paste the link into your browser’s address bar rather than clicking it from a pop-up or preview.
If the link still does not work, contact us with a screenshot of the error and the email you received. We may need to generate a fresh link or ask extra questions to confirm your identity before re-issuing files.
3. Using the files once you have them
3.1 Personal, household, and classroom use
Once you have legitimately obtained a file (for example, by buying a book or signing up for a bonus pack), you may:
- Download and store it on your own devices or private cloud storage for personal use and reasonable backup purposes.
- Print pages for yourself and your immediate household, or for in-room use with your own classroom, book club, or library activity, as described in our Permissions & Licensing page.
- Take the PDF to a local print shop and have copies made for your personal or classroom use, provided the shop does not keep or resell the file.
3.2 What is not allowed
You may not, without our written permission:
- Upload full books, bonus packs, or high-resolution scans to a public website or shared drive.
- Package our pages into your own products (books, printables, course materials, membership content, or apps).
- Remove our logos, signatures, or copyright notices, or replace them with your own branding or watermark.
- Feed our artwork or puzzles into AI training sets or use them as design assets for other commercial projects.
These rules protect readers who support the work and keep bonus packs genuinely special. If you’d like to use our content in a way that falls outside personal, household, or limited classroom use, please contact us to discuss a license.
4. Press kit downloads & intellectual property
Our press kit exists to make it easier for reviewers, journalists, bloggers, bookstores, and event organisers to talk about Chronicles of Wordcraft in a consistent way. It often includes images of covers, logos, and selected artwork, along with text summaries and author information.
4.1 Permitted uses of press kit assets
Unless a specific asset is labelled otherwise, press kit files may be used for genuine editorial or informational purposes, such as:
- Book reviews and features on your blog, podcast, channel, or social media.
- Bookstore or library event listings, newsletters, or in-store displays.
- Media coverage by newspapers, magazines, or broadcasters talking about our books, bonus packs, or brand.
When you use a press kit asset, please credit R. R. Thalore / Chronicles of Wordcraft and do not alter the artwork in a way that changes the meaning or misrepresents the brand.
4.2 Uses that are not permitted
Press kit downloads do not grant permission to:
- Use our artwork, logos, or cover designs as your own logo, imprint mark, or brand identity (for example, on your business cards, website header, or product packaging).
- Package press kit assets into design bundles, clip-art collections, or “Canva templates” for others to use.
- Build your own puzzle books, coloring books, or merchandise using our art or layouts as the core design.
These uses fall under commercial licensing and are covered by our Terms of Use and Permissions & Licensing pages.
4.3 If you’re unsure
If you have a project in mind (for example, a course, membership, or collaborative event) and you’re not sure whether your planned use fits within “editorial only”, please send us a short description. We’ll tell you whether your idea fits within normal press kit use or whether a license or collaboration agreement is needed.
5. File hosting, third-party services & affiliate links
To deliver downloads reliably, we use reputable third-party services such as email providers, file hosts, and in some cases embedded forms or link-shortening tools. These services handle your data in line with our Privacy Policy and Cookies page.
- Some download or “printing recommendations” pages may include affiliate links. Details are explained in our Disclosures and Affiliate & Partnerships pages.
- Affiliate links do not change the price you pay. If you choose to use them, they may send a small commission back to support future books and bonus packs.
- We do not sell your files or reading activity to advertisers. Any analytics we collect are used to improve the library and understand what readers engage with most.
6. Troubleshooting & getting help
If you’ve checked your folders, tried the link in another browser, and still can’t reach your download, we’re happy to help.
6.1 Information to include in your message
To resolve download issues quickly, it helps to include:
- The name of the book, bonus pack, or download you’re trying to access.
- The email address you used to sign up or purchase.
- Where you clicked the link (for example, “Zeus bonus pack welcome email”, “Help > Downloads page”, or “QR code in the back of the book”).
- Any error message you saw, ideally with a screenshot and the device / browser you were using at the time.
6.2 How to contact us
For general help with downloads, start with the rest of the Help section. If you still need assistance, you can reach us at [email protected].
This page does not grant any additional rights beyond what is set out in our Terms of Use, Permissions & Licensing, Privacy Policy, Cookies, and Disclosures pages. When in doubt, those documents—and any specific written agreement you have with us—will always prevail.
